L Spatz 55 for those who enjoy flying.! The Scheibe Spatz A belongs to one of the first glider types that could be used by the flying groups for flying training from the end of April 1951. It was the single seat development of the Mü 13 E and Bergfalke. Both the Spatz A and Spatz B had 13,2 m wingspan. 35 examples were produces. A further development was the L-Spatz 55, also a shoulder winger. It had a wingspan of 15 m and glide ratio of 1:29, which, for the time, was a good performance. In total, over 450 examples were produced up to 1952. The Spatz was at the time, the most successful glider produced by Scheibe-Flugzeugbau GmbH. The robbe L-Spatz 55 is a Semi-Scale replica to a scale of 1:4 with 375 cm wingspan. It has a conventional structure made from perfectly laser-cut parts. The L-Spatz 55 is supplied as a finished model and is covered in antique colour Oratex® fabric. A particularly attractive technical feature are the double-acting spoilers which like the full-sixe open on both the upper and lower surfaces of the wing. An aerotow release is fitted in the fuselage nose. The fabric covering comes pre-painted. The detailed cockpit is fitted-out with instrumenats and pilot seat. All RC components are readily accessible. The canopy is secured with a magnetic catcj, in addition, there is a latching access panel fitted to the upper fuselage. The rudder push-pull cables are fitted, other controls have pushrod linkages. The robbe L-Spatz 55 makes a good impression in flight also. Exactly like the original, it has an elegant sit in the air. Whether it is on a slope or aerotow, the L-Spatz 55 is easy to get to altitude. It perfoms simple aerobatics with ease, such as loors, rolls and stall-turns.
